We all do it, some deeper some more shallow some more in the chest some more in the abdomen.

BREATHING

This workshop takes you on a journey to reset the body to it's two most fundamental natural breathing patterns.
- normal abdominal breathing (NAB)
- reverse abdominal breathing (RAB)
both are natural, both have their own physiological function yet often especially when stress compounds or there is simply too much going on in ones life over the years added tension in the chest and abdomen as well as emotional wounds and stuck patterns lead to distorsions in the way many breathe.

Since breath is our central regulating mechanism for many physiological functions, mental clarity and emotional balance and resilience as well as health and stable immunity it is important to have good control over the mechanisms of breath and not only know how many counts in and how many counts out one is supposed to do to relax but also how to actually take these breaths.

This workshop provides a complete howl over of the breathing system, starting from scratch to reinstate healthy and free flowing patterns and re-connect you with your most powerful tool for self-regulation.
The primary focus here is not emotional or trauma release but to
- reconnect somatically with the body
- consciously use the right muscles to breathe
- be able to control tension and relaxation
- optimize the mechanics of NAB and RAB
- optimize tissue oxygenation
- learn to fully use ones available lung volume again
- leverage breath to regulate, relax and recharge both body, emotions and mind

The workshop is an exploration into your body to more deeply connect and use your breathing consciously. We will use specific techniques to identify and reduce limiting tension and work one step at a time on optimizing your breathing mechanics. For most this is probably fairly intuitive especially with normal abdominal breathing. In reverse abdominal breathing the mechanics often seem a bit weird but once you understand them it does make a lot of sense.
We will also have a detailed chat on the benefits of each one of these natural breathing patterns and when or how to apply for best outcomes.

The workshop is open to all levels, whether you are into breath work, Yoga, freediving, or sports, or you just simply breathe because that's what we do while we are alive. No previous knowledge or training is needed. If you do have previous experiences in breathing more deliberately and consciously the workshop will provide some interesting add ons on how to use the mind, body sensations and mechanics to breath fully.
