this event is specifically for all those who either have never heard of Qigong and want to know what it is, those who have a rough undertanding of it or may even have tried certain exercises at one time and for those who want to learn more about it in full depth and how it correlates with other disciplines like Yoga, meditation practices, martial arts etc.
we will dive into the following topics and I'm happy to dive into specific questions that come from the audience to create an awesome evening full of curiosity, learning and expanding everyones horizons
- what is Qigong, its origins and development over the centuries until the present (less historical more focused on the evolvement of the practice)
- the differences between Qigong and Taiji
- are Qigong and Yoga related
- when to choose Qigong
- philosophical background of Qigong (traditional chinese medicine/ Daoism, Buddhism, Konfuzianism)
- how does Qigong work or create beneficial effects
- the limits of Qigong
- differences in working with energy in Qigong versus working with energy in Yoga
- Qigong for personal or spiritual development
- Qigong in medicine
- Qigong in martial arts
- Qigong in life care and wellbeing
- basic principles of Qigong
- Qigong as a mind- body- spirit- practice
- and much more
The first part of this evening is going to be more presentation style until we have established a baseline to talk about. In the second half it will turn more into an answering of specific questions and also some practical explorations for you to feel into some simple specifc movement patterns that Qigong offers. You could say, some experiences around fundamental principles which can be found in many Qigong systems.
If you are a seasoned practitioner, completely new to Qigong or even come from a different discipline like Yoga or martial arts it will be my please to welcome you there for about 3,5 hours to explore this fascinating topic.
Egwin has been practicing Qigong for more than 34 years and has an extensive background in various movement, meditation and therapeutic systems including western and traditional Chinese medicine, Alexander Technique, Taiji, Yoga, developmental movement, dance, martial arts, body centered psychotherapy and consciousness development methods. He is the founder of Beyond Systems, a system free approach to natural movement and consciousness development based on fundamental principles and the head of the international Qigong school.
